Period Horror Story!

When I got my first period, women in the family advised me to use pads. They believed that tampons rupture hymen, which would be disrespectful for my future husband. When someone dropped a pad in the middle school corridor, everyone walked around it as if it was a dead mouse.

However, my fellow Taekwondo athletes would simply use a tampon on the competition day and perform just fine. As I got used to menstruating, I started questioning the embarrassment and social discomfort associated with periods. By depicting the motion of rotation associated with menstrual blood and hygiene products, this piece dives into the cycle of menstruation.
